Education — Passed B.V.A (Bachelor of Visual Arts) in Painting in 2005 from Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata.

 Sumantra Mukherjee’s upbringing amidst natural surroundings has taught him to look beyond the obvious and notice all that is responsible for making nature beautiful.His creativity,very often is influenced by the absorption of elements within his sight. He often tries to portray through his works, ordinary surroundings in a different perspective, thus rendering moments of visual extravaganza. His landscapes reflect not only what he sees but also assimilates the other four senses, thereby infusing his paintings with strong emotions and bringing his subjects to life.  

The artist lives and works in West Bengal.
