Education — Diploma in Applied Art & Design from Academy of Fine Arts (1998 – 1999); Passed with 1st division in Painting from Sangam College, Siliguri, affiliated to Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, up to 3rd year; passed 4th year with 1st division in Painting from Nataraj Shikshayatan, Siliguri, affiliated to Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.

Sudipta Kundu’s artwork displays a strong focus on light and colours, with an added emphasis on contrast and texture. Bright and vivid hues are placed alongside faded, almost black and white images, giving the images a surreal aspect. This is heightened by the placing of the subjects. Texture is heavily accented, and it is easy to tell the differences in each surface. The figures can go from realistic to semi realistic to near abstract, all the while retaining their lifelike properties.
