Education — Self taught and guided by his father the late Sudhanshu Prosad Ghosh.

Blurred colours and outlines give Nirmallyo Ghosh’s works a softness that is reminiscent of the French Impressionist paintings. Light and shade are very much present, though the effect of the very dark or very bright hues is somewhat muted by the hazy texture. This same texture is used to add the fine details to the subjects. An economy of lines can also be seen, with the colours doing most of the work in filling out the pictures.
