Self taught artist Madhumita Bhattacharya’s works are rendered with a strong emphasis on shadows and highlights, which provide the basis of the images emotional tone.

Vivid colours and soft shading lend the pictures their atmosphere. The backgrounds are simple, illustrated by skilfully drawn patterns of natural flora and different motifs, made realistic with the help of textures.
