Vistas of India on a sunny day, of moments in the city streets, of ancient temples and monuments are all brought into a canvas with the help of sure strokes and water colours by self taught artist R.D. Roy. Strong realism is shown in every scene, the details clear and remarkable, and the colours unusually bright and strong for a work of water colours. The brush strokes are strong and certain, and yet barely visible. Light and shade are clearly distinguishable, the sunlight almost glowing in contrast to the cool darkness of the shadows.
R.D. Roy lives and works in Kolkata.
